We should probably admit something straight away: we have a bit of a weakness for integrated-bracelet watches. If you have spent any time looking through the watches we buy and sell, that will not come as a huge surprise.
There is something about the way the case flows straight into the bracelet. A good one feels like a complete design rather than a watch head with a strap attached afterwards. They can look sporty without being bulky, smart without feeling formal and — importantly for us — you can get some genuinely brilliant examples without spending silly money.
What actually makes a watch ‘integrated’?
On a traditional watch, the strap or bracelet usually sits between two obvious lugs. With an integrated design, the bracelet visually continues from the case itself. The first links become part of the overall shape of the watch.
The PRX changed the affordable end of the market
The Tissot PRX is impossible to ignore here. We have owned, bought and sold PRX models ourselves, and we understand why they took off. The case shape is distinctive, the bracelet is excellent for the money and the Powermatic 80 version gives you a Swiss automatic movement with a genuinely useful power reserve.
Then there is the Citizen Tsuyosa
The Tsuyosa is a different proposition, and that is exactly why we like it. It is softer, a little more playful and often much bolder with colour. The Small Seconds models add textured dials and an off-centre seconds display that gives them real character.
Why the style works for us
We started White Rose Watch Co. because we genuinely enjoy watches. We are not interested in pretending that a good watch has to cost several thousand pounds. Integrated-bracelet sports watches are a perfect example of why.
